William Buford is a draft eligible senior and hired Herb Rudoy and Ron Shade as his agents.
During the NCAA Tournament Buford did not have a coming out party despite going all the way to the Final Four. He averaged 13.2 PPG on 35.1% shooting from the field. From three he was a little more effect shooting 10/34 at 38.6% in the five game run.
With Buford he is a player that feeds off of early scores in a game. When he knocks down a few shots early he is a more aggressive player. That aggression plays into his attacking mentality on offense. He is a good penatrator going at the basket.
Defensively Buford is sound with good strength and athleticism on the perimeter. He has an NBA frame today making his transition to the NBA a smooth one.
Likely in the NBA Buford is a three-point specialist that will have to earn his minutes on defensive. He is not a elite athlete or scorer so he needs to emphasis on those two skills that are above average for this class and at the NBA level.
As of today Buford is the No. 7 shooting guard, the No. 31 prospect on the Big Board, and going No. 38 Overall in the Mock Draft.

One of the few players that has made it four years and is still considered a prospect, which is rare in today’s day and age. What Buford brings to the table is why. He is a terrific team player that has sacrificed a lot over the years to get better and win. He is a very good shooter from deep and can score from all areas on the floor. He is quality defender with good size.
Buford does not have a lot to improve on as a four year player. He has become more of a leader and play-maker in the offense when they get off track. His progression has been over four years, not just this one.
Every year a seasoned (older) prospect gets overlooked and out performs where he is drafted. This year may be no different with Buford cast in that role. He has the size to play the wing in the NBA and has played with and against numerous NBA players over four years at Ohio State. His game translates well to any team with a pass-first point guard that he can play off of.
