From the 2012 Nike Hoops Summit in Portland ~
One of the most intriguing prospects during the weeks of practice and in the game itself was Archie Goodwin. He played the entire time with great energy and effort. Coming into the Hoops Summit Goodwin had the reputation as a defender and an elite athlete.
Athletically it is hard to keep up with Goodwin as he is quick, shifty, and can elevate above a defender. He has great length for his position
The tools are there for Goodwin to be an elite defender. He is very active and moves his feet side-to-side as well as anyone his age. Add to that he has very quick hands with instincts that are developing. He made plays in the full court and in man-to-man that were very advanced. Goodwin will fit in immediately in Kentucky’s pressure defense.
On offense Goodwin has a bit of a problem with tunnel vision. When he catches it you can see the switch flip to try and get to the basket. He is a quality one-on-one scorer with his ball-handling, but does not see open teammates with regularity. Goodwin is not a point guard, but like Austin Rivers he could benefit from slowing down a gear and picking his head up while attacking.
In Kentucky’s system Goodwin is going to flourish in the open court. His athleticism and attacking style fits in perfectly on both ends of the floor.

Hey there excellent website! Does running a blog like this
take a great deal of work? I have absolutely no expertise in coding
however I was hoping to start my own blog in the
near future. Anyhow, if you have any ideas or techniques for new blog owners please share.
I understand this is off topic but I just wanted to
ask. Many thanks!
I hope Archie can play his way into the lottery with workouts.
