The freshman point guard has played well in big games all season. He is not the most polished point guard in the Nation, but he is playing well. As a playmaker Young has not been a volume assist man, but he also does not turn the ball over a lot. He is an elite rebounder for the position and a very good defender. The main attraction to Young is that he is an elite scorer for his position and age. Against the defending National Champions Young scored 28 points with 1 turnover, but only 1 assist as well.

Early in the season Young was a different player than he is today. He is still very raw and needs to improve, but the game is slowing down more for him. The decision to pass verse score is getting better all while playing tougher competition in conference play.

Overall Young has a lot of work to do left to become a well rounded prospect. He has a lot of upside and can be the next great athletic point guard. Another year to slow down the game for him is needed. Young has a lot to bring to the table and next season he could have a breakout year.
