Analysis:

Smith is just a baby, but he dominated the paint like a man in the latter half of his freshman season. He has an array of offensive skills and really owns the paint when he is in there. On the offensive end he has good touch, both around the basket and out to 12-15 feet. Smith uses his size advantage to create position for rebounding and is unstoppable on the offensive glass.

His setbacks are the same as they have always been, he is never in great shape and has conditioning issues. With a 6-9 frame Smith needs to drop somewhere near 40+ lbs. to get into a healthy playing shape that will allow him to play consistently. His size is an advantage in small spurts, but the speed of the game will make Smith ineffective going forward if he cannot shape-up.

This season Smith needs to focus on getting into the ideal playing shape that will allow him to play consistently all season. With how polished his offensive game is becoming, the effort on the defensive end needs to improve as well. As much as Smith is a positive force on offense and on the glass, he may be an equalliability on defense.
