Moser is a unique kind of prospect at the forward position. He excels on the glass like most forwards should. He is very active and near dominant as a rebounder as the Nations No.2 defensive rebounder and in the Top 25 on the offensive glass. The other facet of Moser’s game is three-point shooting. Against quality competition he has performed as well with 18 rebounds against North Carolina and 11 at Wisconsin. He is a knock down three point shooter (33%) as a big man. Those two skills play well off of each other making Moser a very productive sophomore despite his differences at UCLA as a freshman.

As a freshman last year at UCLA Moser played a total of 70 minutes, this season he is on pace to play over 1,000 minutes at UNLV. He has found a better situation for his game with the faster paced Running Rebels. He is still too wiry for full time duty as an NBA four, but can be a stretch-four with some more bulk to his frame. Moser is easily one of the most fascinating stories in college basketball this season.

Overall there are great things about Moser (shooting, rebounding) and a few drawbacks (weight, strength) that make him a fringe first round prospect. He is going to be in a log-jam of power forwards that can go anywhere from 18-32 in the upcoming draft. Another year in college is probably the remedy in getting Moser up to the late lottery.
