Playing at a small school can be challenging to get noticed, but for Mitchell it is a little different. Mitchell was a big time prospect coming out of high school on his way to Missouri, but transferred to North Texas. He is a freak athlete that plays strong on both ends of the floor. He is an impressive leaper and explosive scorer in the paint. On the season he is a 50% three point shooter, despite that not being a major strength. On defense he can be a menace creating lots of turnovers and blocking shots.

Throughout the season Mitchell has improved not only as a basketball player, but also as a leader. He played in Riga for the U-19 Men’s Championships and got rave reviews from the coaches. This season he hit his stride after a big performance verse South Alabama and has not looked back.

Looking at Mitchell as purely an athlete he has all the tools to be an elite combo forward at the next level. Great athleticism that he uses as a rebounder and a defender. He still has work to do on offense, but that will come in time. Another year in college is not a need for Mitchell considering the competition level and at this point he may be a surprise lottery pick.
