Analysis:

02/18/2012

McAdoo is a smooth freshman with poise beyond his years on the basketball court. He has the intangibles that normally take years to inquire from a young player. He is a versatile forward that can rebound and defend very well. McAdoo can do everything very good on offense and defense.

Most elite freshman have trouble transitioning to a bench role or even a smaller role within the team. This season McAdoo is not playing as much as he could, but is doing it professionally. He is not complaining and therefore learning from his more tenured teammates.

Looking at all the elite freshman this year McAdoo has the most to gain from coming back. This year he was buried – rightfully so – behind Henson and Zeller. Next year he will have more freedom in the offense and all the minutes they leave behind. Top 20 pick in 2012 or a Top 5-7 pick in 2013.
