Dominique Jones

Selected No. 25 by the Memphis Grizzlies (sold pick to Dallas)

College: South Florida
Birthday: 10/15/88
NBA Position: Point Guard/Shooting Guard
Class: Junior
Ht: 6’4″
Wt: 215
Hometown: Lake Wales, FL
High School: Lake Wales
NBA Comparison: Rodney Stuckey

Strengths: Jones is a scorer who can flat-out get it done offensively. He can knock down mid-range jumpers and has 3-point range as well, but his best strength is his ability to dribble-drive and get to he rim. With a very quick first step, defenders struggle to stay with him. Jones is highly effective at getting to the free throw line as well, where he is averaging over eight attempts a game. A solid defender, he always seems to be around the ball. Strong and muscular, Jones uses it to his advantage and is a very good rebounder for his size.

Weaknesses: A tweener who can play both the point and off guard, but seems more natural as a two at the next level. It is questionable whether he can run an offense on his own; he is a good passer, but being a good passer and running an offense are two different things. As a shooting guard, Jones is a terrific scorer, but he may have difficulties getting his shot off at the next level.
