Sherron Collins
College: Kansas
Birthday: 3/18/87
NBA Position: Point Guard
Class: Senior
Ht: 5-11
Wt: 205
Hometown: Chicago, IL
High School: Crane Tech
NBA Comparison: Will Bynum
Strengths: Collins is an excellent ball handler and is explosive off the dribble. He uses his quick first step and strong body to power through defenders off the dribble. Collins has excellent lift on his jump shot and can knock down shots from long distance. Collins uses his unusual strength for a point guard to make up for his lack of height on the defensive end and is a solid on ball defender. Collins is an excellent leader who has played significant minutes for Kansas since the day he arrived. He has shown to be a big shot maker in key moments throughout his career as a Jayhawk.
Weaknesses: Collins lack of height will make the transition to the NBA difficult for him. He will have a hard time getting his shot off against lengthy defenders as well as being able to finish in traffic. Collins needs to establish an in between game in order to be successful in the NBA. Transitioning from a shoot-first point guard in college to a distributor in the NBA will also be vital to his success as a pro.
