Trevor Booker
Selected No. 22 by the Minnesota Timberwolves (traded to Washington)
College: Clemson
Birthday: 11/25/87
NBA Position: PF
Class: Senior
Ht: 6-7
Wt: 215
Hometown: Whitmire, SC
High School: Union HS
NBA Comparison: Carl Landry
Strengths: Booker is an undersized power forward who has had a productive four years at Clemson, averaging over 10 points in each season. Despite his lack of height, he is able score down low with basic moves that take advantage of his quickness and ball handling skills. Has adapted to double teams by becoming great at finding the open man (2.4 ast/gm and only 1.8 TOs/gm). Hard worker with a developing mid-range game. Toughness and a consistent motor has allowed him to compete on the boards in a conference filled with NBA size inside (Duke, Georgia Tech, Florida State, North Carolina, Wake Forest). Opportunistic defender (1.4 steals and 1.5 blocks).
Weaknesses: Booker has seen his numbers decline from his junior to senior year. Size is a problem and will need to add weight if he wants to be another undersized PF success story. Will have to develop mid-range game and more post moves as he won’t be able to rely on athleticism as much. Average rebounder at best on the next level. Will struggle to defend bigger post threats. Limited upside due to age and size.
