NBA Position: Shooting Guard
Hometown: Oklahoma City, OK
High School: Putnam City
NBA Comparison: Wilson Chandler
Strengths: Xavier Henry is a monster of a freshman guard. At 6’6” 220 pounds he is already a grown man and might still be growing and the wild thing is he can shoot the rock already. Not known as a slasher, Henry is a great catch and shoot guard that finds plenty of open shots on the loaded KU team. His FG% is only 43% because of silly freshman shots but his FT% is 77% and his 3P% is nearly 40%. His shooting numbers will improve but he has bad decision-making skills (more TO than assists) and needs to learn how to attack the rim if he wants to be a lottery pick.
Weaknesses: Typical freshman stuff. Bad decision-making and no defense have lead to an increased role on the bench. Needs to be more aggressive and go to the rack more if he wants to come out this season. He will be showcased more next season as Sherron Collins leaves but he will need to work on a lot of parts of his game if he thinks he is a quality NBA player. He only shoots well at this point in his career and that is not what NBA GMs are looking for in the lottery.
