Analysis:

He is another jitter-bug point guard that has the ability to get into the lane almost at will. Carson is as fast as they come at the one with an impressive initial burst as well as change of pace with his speeds. For his size, Carson has the explosiveness to get above the rim, but he struggles in traffic due to his lack of traditional size.

Carson uses his quickness to get into the lane and create, but so far it has been for himself. He is an adept scorer in the paint using his craftiness around the basket to get defenders in the air with pump fakes and using angles.

As a point guard he has not mastered the ability to balance scoring and passing. Within five feet Carson is a solid passer, but his court vision is limited and he frequently misses teammates in the corners and in transition.

The freshman has the ability to defend, but he is very inconsistent across the board so far. Scoring point guards with his size traditionally struggle to find a home at the next level.

Carson has the ability and athleticism to be a productive NBA point guard with some more seasoning and experience running the offense.
