Changes Proven To Be Effective So Far
The Brooklyn Nets made a big move by getting rid of Joe Johnson, and since then they have turned into a more competitive team. The ability to give some of their young guys an opportunity to play has proven to be beneficial to them creating a better team atmosphere. Although they lost to Minnesota by 14, the game before they beat Denver in overtime. They played the Lakers and Clippers tough and the game before that they beat Utah and Phoenix.
Raptors Home Win Streak Snapped
The Toronto Raptors had their 12 game home win streak snapped on Sunday to the Houston Rockets. What was dissipating for them was the fact that they led by as much as 18 points in that game. However, when you dig deeper into the Raptors past 10 games or so, other than Cleveland, they haven’t really beaten any team they shouldn’t have.
Nets Competitive Against Toronto
The Raptors have handled the Nets with ease the last couple of times they played this season. Last time these two teams faced, the Raptors won by 12 at home. However, the Brooklyn Nets played them tough until they fell apart in the 4th quarter. For the whole game, the Raptors were not covering the spread until the last couple of minutes. Brook Lopez took apart Valanaciunus all game long, putting up 29 points. Even with the 30 points Kyle Lowry and Demar DeRozan put up, the Nets were able to silence the supporting cast.
With the home win streak the Raptors just had, and the Nets general perception it’s no surprise that this number is at 12. We have watched the Nets play many games since the trade deadline and their roster is better than people are giving them credit for. Add to it the fact that the Raptors have covered the past 2 games against them, the odds makers and the general public are giving the Raptors a few more points than they deserve. We will be backing the Brooklyn Nets and taking the 12 points with them.
